Mr. Katz was named president, general counsel and secretary of Loral in December 2012. He originally joined Loral in 1996 and served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary from January 2008 to December 2012, as vice president, general counsel and secretary from November 1999 to December 2007, as vice president, deputy general counsel and secretary from February 1998 to November 1999 and as associate general counsel from July 1996 to February 1998.
Prior to joining Loral, Mr. Katz was an associate in the New York City law firm, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence W. Pierce, Circuit Judge for the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Katz attended Yeshiva University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in 1981, and Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in 1984. Mr. Katz earned a doctor of jurisprudence degree from the Columbia University School of Law in 1986. At Columbia Law School, he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and editor of the Columbia Journal of Law & Social Problems.
