For more than 40 years, Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) has been designing, manufacturing and integrating satellites and space systems for a wide variety of commercial and government customers. SS/L is a leading supplier of commercial telecommunications satellites. SS/L's products include high-powered direct-to-home broadcast satellites, commercial weather satellites, digital audio radio satellites and spot-beam satellites for data networking applications.

SS/L customers include such satellite service providers and government organizations as APT Satellite, DIRECTV, EchoStar, Hisdesat, ICO Satellite Management, Intelsat, Japan's Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation Bureau, the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the U.S Department of Commerce, Optus (SingTel), PanAmSat, Shin Satellite, Sirius Satellite Radio, Telesat, TerreStar Networks, XTAR and XM Satellite Radio.

SS/L has a history of robust innovation and highly reliable products. Beginning with three Courier military communications satellites built in 1960, SS/L has manufactured more than 220 satellites, delivering more than 1,300 years of on-orbit service. SS/L satellites cover the vast majority of customer requirements for satellites from six to over 20 kilowatts of power. The capacity offered on these satellites ranges from one to as many as 150 transponders.
