Overview | Executive Team | Location / Contact

A record of industry firsts. In the 1960s, Telstar 1 was launched and used to deliver the first live, intercontinental satellite TV transmission. In the 1970s, Anik A1 became the first commercially operated domestic satellite in geostationary orbit. More recently, Anik F2 was the world's first satellite to successfully commercialize Ka–band for two–way high speed broadband services.

Telesat today has a global satellite fleet, advanced terrestrial infrastructure and technical leadership backed by an award winning Research & Development Lab. Telesat has built a reputation across the satellite industry for having the expertise – commercial, operational and regulatory – that enables service providers to access the right communications solutions and quickly implement them anywhere in the world.
